Hi, I’m Jess
Jessica Frankel, LCSW · Trauma & EMDR therapist, and the person behind Osera
I’m not a sit-back-and-nod kind of therapist. I talk with you, not at you.
If therapy has ever felt like “just talking,” with someone nodding along or telling you things you already knew, I get it. That’s not how I work. I’ll be honest with you, point out the patterns I notice, and give you something real to work with.
I’ve worked in hospitals and outpatient care with people of all ages, and I kept seeing the same thing: people who understood their pain and still felt it in their body every day. That’s what led me to EMDR.
Our sessions are relaxed, real conversations, and there’s room for laughter, even on the hard days, because a little lightness helps us carry the heavy stuff. You set the pace.
A little about me outside of sessions
I’m a South Florida native, a big foodie who loves cooking as much as eating, and a self-proclaimed chocolate chip cookie connoisseur. I love a good book, traveling, time with my people, and getting way too emotionally invested in a TV series. I’m still waiting to become someone who actually wants to work out. For now I go anyway and, annoyingly, I’m almost always glad I did.
I also practice what I preach. I see my own therapist and I’m always learning more about myself, because growth isn’t something we ever really “finish.”
A few things I believe
Safety comes first
We get you feeling steady before we go anywhere hard. There’s no rush, and no one’s grading you.
Your reactions made sense
The ways you learned to cope got you through. We’ll treat them with respect instead of shame.
Healing is possible
Painful memories really can loosen their grip. I get to watch it happen all the time, and it never gets old.

Osera comes from the Latin word for osier, the flexible willow branches traditionally used to weave and bind things together.
The name reflects the heart of this work: reconnecting the pieces of ourselves, our experiences, and our relationships to create something whole.
